On 16 January 2020, Topcon Healthcare Solutions EMEA (Topcon) and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences (Metropolia) entered into a Cooperation Agreement, under which the parties have decided to work collaboratively towards a strategic partnership. As part of this collaboration, the parties will support and promote each other’s goals and activities through student work, project cooperation and other forms of expertise sharing. Topcon will also furnish Metropolia’s educational and clinical facilities with an NW400 fundus camera installed with Harmony Referral System (Harmony RS), which is Topcon’s Data Management and Telemedicine solution.

“We are excited about our partnership with Metropolia. It allows us to leverage the expertise of their students and gain insight into the latest developments within the field of optometry at the same time as developing our solutions and marketing activities.  We hope that the cooperation will be mutually beneficial as the students will get to familiarise themselves with currently utilised hardware and software solutions in the industry, during their studies,” states Ville Wuotila, Executive Vice President, Topcon.

“At Metropolia’s Optometry Degree Program we are also very much looking forward to this cooperation.  We believe this partnership will provide our students with a new opportunity to learn about the field of optometry through working with real-life tasks and getting a unique experience on the benefits that collaboration and community brings. By working together, we are all something more,” says Kajsa Sten, Coordinating Lecturer, Metropolia.
